Academic Programs

The American Institute of Mathematics (AIM), a non-profit organization of research mathematicians, provides the following community outreach programs in Morgan Hill.

Volunteer at the FRYS.COM OPEN in October, 2010 and raise money for Morgan Hill Math!

For every volunteer who works at the golf tournament in support of AIM, AIM will provide $100 in funding for 2011 Morgan Hill Math programs. There are many volunteer opportunities available; some Morgan Hill Math volunteers are signing up at "ShotLink," operating fairway and greenside lasers that record various statistics. However, we encourage you to sign up (with a friend!) with whatever volunteer area interests you. Thank you for supporting Morgan Hill Math!

For details or to sign up as a volunteer, go to Volunteer on the frysopengolf website.and click on the red "Volunteer Sign Up" box. Note that one of the fields to be filled out is called "Golf Club/Organization." In order to get the $100 volunteer credit toward Morgan Hill Math, you must enter "AIM" in that box.

Math Mardi Gras

Math Mardi Gras makes math fun for all ages! This community-wide math celebration attracts over 300 students and volunteers annually. Students in 2nd through 8th grades test their math skills at various booths, collecting Mardi Gras beads and winning prizes. Students of all ages compete at SET, "Math Jeopardy," Rubik's Cube and Sudoku.

Game Nights

Monthly game nights engage both students and adults in games of skill and logic. Here is your chance to finally learn to solve Sudoku or Killer Sudoku puzzles, play Set, enjoy old favorites like Scrabble or Backgammon... and more!
